6:00  - Evening in Downtown Halifax (on your own).

Sun. July 5
7:00 AM - Breakfast at hotel (provided)
8:00 -  Tour Guide arrives and begin loading bus
8:30 - Depart Hotel for Wolfville
10:00 -  Arrive Wolfville Wolfville and Grand Pre are only 5 minutes apart. So, exiting the highway, we find ourselves in Grand Pre, where we visit the Acadian Museum. It is interesting with a full-size replica of the diking technology they perfected without windmills to pump out water. A large part of the Acadian history here is about reclaiming the fertile land (perhaps the most fertile anywhere) from the Bay of Fundy. No small thing with the extremely high tides. In Grand Pre alone, the museum sits alongside 3000 acres of reclaimed diked land. The Mi'kmaq had a striking observation of this Acadian diking activity. It was said amongst them, "look the French make their own land, the English take our land from us."

We would spend an hour there, maybe a little longer, because the back door from the museum leads to a sprawling lawn with a lane passing through apple trees and flower gardens, and a statue of the star character from the epic poem Evangeline. The path ends at the replica of the old Anglican church, which you will have access to. It has quite a bit of interesting history.

We would leave Grand Pre and cruise through Wolfville, we would stop in front of Acadia University for a photo op and a short talk providing info about the founding and history of Acadia.11:30 arrival at a restaurant.

Recommendations are the Church Brewery and restaurant right on the main drag in Wolfville, the other is Pete Luckett's Winery and restaurant 10 minutes away from the Church. We have taken people to both and never had a bad word said about either. This is a rare opportunity to split the group into those who would like a wine experience and those who prefer a craft brewery.

Now time to for walk-about to explore the town etc.
2:30 - Depart Wolville for Halifax
4:00 -  Arrive back Hotel allowing plenty of time to rest and freshen up for an evening to remember at The Grafton Street Theatre. (only 2 blocks away) . Lounge opens at 5:30 PM called to the dining room at 6:15 PM and show “Hoe Down Show Down" starts at 6:30.
